Neighbourhood retail and services

Be there when the neighbour searches

You compete on the shop window and on whoever walks past. The same person searches for you from the sofa half an hour later, and there you are nowhere.

Barcelona has more than sixty thousand commercial premises. Most compete on the shop window and on whoever walks past, and almost none of them show up when that same neighbour searches for what they sell from the sofa.

The difference is rarely the website. It is that the Google listing is half-finished, that the August hours were never updated, that the only way to book an appointment is to phone during shop hours, and that half the appointments are lost because nobody reminds anyone.

That is what we fix first, because that is what pays for itself in the first week. The handsome website comes afterwards, and costs less than you think.

What we build for a neighbourhood business

Turning up in “near me”

Local search isn’t won by the biggest website, it is won by the best-maintained listing. We start there because it is free and because it is where the customer looks before deciding.

  • A complete Google Business Profile: right category, hours, holidays, photos and products
  • Local-business structured data on your site, consistent with the listing
  • Identical name, address and phone across every directory you already appear in
  • Pages by service and by district, for the searches you can actually win

Appointments that cut no-shows

An empty hour is never recovered. The automatic reminder is the cheapest part of the whole project and the one you notice most in the till.

  • Booking from a phone, no call and no user account
  • Automatic reminder by email or WhatsApp the day before
  • Sync with each practitioner’s Google Calendar
  • Rules per service: duration, overlaps, breaks and each person’s hours

Selling with the shutter down

You don’t need a full online shop to sell at night. Sometimes a catalogue, a price and collection in store is enough — and that takes two weeks.

  • Catalogue with price and stock, with no obligation to handle shipping
  • Click and collect, and product reservation
  • Card, Bizum and Apple Pay — Bizum because here everybody uses it
  • Order notification by WhatsApp or email, instantly

Menu, allergens and hours that update themselves

A menu in a 2019 PDF is the most common mistake in neighbourhood hospitality. We put it on a page you can edit from your phone, with allergens where the law wants them.

  • Menu on the site with prices and allergens, not a PDF you have to pinch-zoom
  • A table QR code pointing at your domain, not an intermediary’s
  • Hours and holidays you edit yourself, synced to the Google listing
  • Table booking with no per-cover commission
One project, with its numbers

Hair salon in Gràcia, two stylists

Appointments by phone and Instagram, a paper diary, and roughly one booked hour in six going empty with no warning. The brief was not a website: it was to stop losing those hours.

Comerç package: €1,490 + €49/month maintenance

  1. Appointments per service, with real durations and a separate diary per stylist
  2. Automatic reminder the day before, with a link to change or cancel
  3. Google Business Profile rebuilt, with August hours and current photos
  4. Four pages: services, prices, team and how to find us, in Catalan and Spanish
  5. Invoicing made Verifactu-ready ahead of the deadline

What the rules ask of you, and where they say it

Four obligations that affect nearly every shop and that nearly nobody has explained to the shopkeeper. They are handled inside the project, with the reference so you can check.

  • Verifiable invoicing (Verifactu)

The regulation requires invoices from software that cannot alter its records, each with a hash and a QR code. It applies to corporate income tax payers from 1 January 2027 and to everyone else from 1 July 2027. If your shop or your bookings generate an invoice, it is already generated compliantly.

  • Accessibility in e-commerce

Since 28 June 2025 e-commerce must be accessible to WCAG 2.1 level AA. There is an exemption for microenterprises under ten people and under two million euros; it is worth knowing which side of that line you are on before somebody asks.

  • Allergens, on the digital menu too

Allergen information is compulsory for food served unpackaged. On a digital menu that means per dish and readable on a phone, not a footnote saying “ask a member of staff”.

No tracking, no banner needed. We fit analytics with no cookies and no personal data, so we are not asking you to chase your customers with a consent box in order to count a few visits.

Who this page is for

  • Food, fashion, optical, florist, bookshop and gift retail
  • Neighbourhood bars, restaurants, bakeries and gelaterias
  • Hair and barber shops, beauty and physiotherapy practices
  • Workshops, locksmiths, electricians, plumbers and builders
  • Practices, accountants, dental clinics and private consultations

What we won’t tell you

  • That you need a hundred-page website. Not with one shop.
  • That ranking is immediate. The Google listing moves in weeks; a competitive search, in months.
  • That you have to change your till system. If yours works, we connect to it or leave it alone.

Questions from shops and services

If your question isn’t here, write to us and we’ll answer it. Contact

Where do I start if the budget is small?

The Google Business Profile and appointment booking, in that order. The listing is free and it is what the customer sees before deciding; appointments with reminders is what stops the lost hours. With those done, the website can wait a quarter without costing you money.

Can I pay for the site with Kit Digital or a grant?

There are two common routes: Kit Digital from Red.es, and the retail digitalisation calls run by Catalonia’s Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda. Both open and close, so the first step is checking whether you fall inside the current call. If you don’t qualify, we say so rather than spending your time on paperwork.

Do I actually need a real online shop?

Often not. If you sell things people would rather collect, a catalogue with price, stock and click-and-collect costs half as much and works just as well. A full shop makes sense once you are selling beyond your own neighbourhood, or when shipping is part of the business.

What if somebody else looks after my site now?

Nothing has to be broken. We can work on what you already have, or take only the part that is failing — the appointments, the Google listing, the invoicing. We don’t insist on starting from scratch in order to charge more.

What is costing you the most money?

Describe the business in four lines. We’ll tell you what we would fix first, what it costs, and what can wait.
